it's astonishingly well done isn't it? The bass strings have just the right timbre - slightly slack - Wobble used to use all this reggae-bassist tricks to make the strings not too pingy and taut sounding, soaking the strings in something (vinegar?) - the guitarist has got the blade-on-bone scrap of Levene's guitar, the drumming is pretty close, and even the singer does a decent job at mimicing Lydon's piteous wail.
A wonderful mind-picture, isn't it - a bunch of session musicians gearing up for another day's work, painstakingly working out each hit's sound was achieved, and doing a facsimile of it, and then instead of the Nolans or Heatwave or even The Vapors, today it's "Death Disco" - and they just apply themselves to the task in hand like the pros they are.
